Job Requirements:
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Design and production:
• Works with Art Director and other Directors across the brand to conceptualize, research, plan and execute the visuals and design for magazine, bookazines, and digital editions. (Designs departments and features as assigned for 6-10 issues/year)
• Works with Art Director and photo contributors on assigned photo shoots to assist with; bookings, producing, styling & art direction
• Reviews and manages Zinio digital editions
• Works with an in-house color correction specialist and the Art Director to make sure color is being processed to meet Yoga Journal standards
• Manages production and post-production as needed

The ideal candidate:
• Has consumer magazine design/layout design experience, strong production skills and at least 3+ years as a page layout designer
• Is very familiar with Adobe CC apps, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Has a degree in graphic design or a related field
• Has strong print and digital design skills, is a self-starter, and thinks outside the box
• Has a broad knowledge of photography, typography, color correction and illustration
• Is highly organized and deadline driven, with superb project and time management skills
• Works collaboratively with team members both in the office and around the country
• Has a solid understanding of the yoga community and lifestyle – 200+hours of completed teacher training a plus, but not a requirement

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Design.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience – including in UI/UX, multimedia projects, and editorial design – with online news media organizations.
• Strong portfolio of work examples required.
• A strong visual sense and attention to detail with ability to achieve superior design outcomes while working within limited budgets.
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS/JavaScript well as in professional video, animation, and graphics software such as Adobe Premiere and the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).

This hands-on role involves assigning and producing original photography for TOH editorial, digital, marketing, TV, branded content and social, working across all platforms. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assign and produce original photography for TOH editorial, digital, marketing, TV, branded content and social, working across all platforms.
• Edit and curate images from photo shoots and collaborate with art directors and editors on visual presentations on all platforms.

• Play an active role in the constant pursuit of visual innovation across all platforms, with an emphasis on new and emerging platforms.

• Manage photo budgets and invoices. Negotiate fees, secure photo rights and contracts for print, digital, marketing, advertising, TV, social, and digital.
• Coordinate and organize and maintain databases of digital image files, including images from TV shoots, social media, etc. Work with the managing editor and creative director to develop, implement, and manage a DAM.
• Opportunity to take in-house and onsite photographs for various TOH platforms as needed. Work with the digital and design teams to create still and motion graphics based on original TOH photography.
• May require some light traveling that is generally local.
