CCA Photo Program
@ccaphotoprogram

First of all, you should all be following your local art schools and photo centers for info on everything new in your local photo world. A couple of them I follow are the California College of Arts and the Harvey Milk Photo Center in San Francisco.

Harley Weir
@harleyweir

If you know me, you know I like the weird and the creepy. I'll follow anyone who takes me down a severely ominous rabbithole, which is what happened to me when I discovered Harley Weir, or most likely she was forwarded to me by one of my fellow creepy art friends.

I typically don't follow people who have a bazillion followers (except @prideofgypsies of course)- but Harley is too stunning and inspiring to miss.

Jenna Garrett
@particulr

Jenna Garrett is a quiet fire of photo love. Yes, she is a photographer and yes, she is a photo editor and so many other yes things. I just love everything she does, bring on the Missouri culture!

Shayan Asgharnia
@shayanhathaway

I have no idea how he has time to make such addictive Instagram moments, but Shayan Asgharnia does it all. Clearly, he is busy shooting incredible work all the time, but he gives and he gives to his photo fans like me. I find myself inner-shouting with agreeance everytime his stories pass my vertical screen. Also: dogs.

Noémie Marguerite
@noemiemarguerite

I have no idea when I found Noemie Marguerite on Instagram, but it was sometime last year. Complete rabbit hole. I think I went through her entire archive over like three hours, staring at every corner of every frame. The tones. The moods. The feelings. She continues to provide the same feelings she did when I first came across her. Thank you for being an artist and for being intentional about your shit (her truest words).

Suzanne Saroff
@hisuzanne

We shoot a lot of product at WIRED and we do many many conceptual works for pieces that are security / genome / blockchain, etc. based when there is NOTHING to shoot for those pieces. This is where artists like Suzanne Saroff come in handy. She has such beautiful still life. It's not products. It's just flora beyond anything you've ever seen. So beautiful and gooey.

Jack Strutz
@strutz

MORE STILL LIFE PORN. Thank you, Jack Strutz. I love everything I see here, so colorful and weird angles and crispy.

Jessica Chou
@choutoo

Jessica caught my eye a few years ago and has been wowing me ever since. Her work is so diverse, colorful, and honest. She got her first cover this year with the women of Netflix and another stunning cover about the Somali immigrant workers at Amazon.

Mark Clennon
@mark.c

I worked with Mark earlier this year, and one thing to know, he is incredibly ambitious. Whether it’s the expression of the subject, or his rich color palette, he makes all of his shoots stand on their own.

Mary Beth Koeth
@mbkoeth

I love how versatile Mary Beth is. You can tell she has a style, but she is able to change it up depending on the shoot. I worked with her recently on a shoot that looked almost nothing like what she had done before and it turned out to be one of the best shoots we had done all year. Her “Off-Season Santas” series is what originally brought me to her.

Mattia Balsamini
@mattiabalsamini

I met Mattia about a year ago. The warmth and color that he brings into his photos are so appealing. They have a very scientific, yet vintage looking quality to them. But what I really love is how you can just feel (yes, feel) the texture in his work. Also, he really knows how to curate an Instagram feed.

Lelanie Foster
@lelanief

Recently, Lelanie had been working on the Queen & Slim movie set. What drew me to her was how her photos look so natural and effortless. Nothing feels posed and you really feel like you are in the moment with her. She is able to put her subjects at ease and capture truly organic moments.

Christoffer Rudquist
@crudquist

If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for industrial/factory photos. Especially ones full of chrome that exhibit strong composition and an understanding of how one should build a frame (i don't think it is :) ) That’s what caught my eye with Christoffer. He creates a stark futuristic, mechanized environment.

Meiko Takechi Arquillos
@meikophoto

Still life photography isn't necessarily my wheelhouse, but i've been getting into it more of late.. I am absolutely in love with Meiko’s bright, colorful, and fun images. Her images are arresting, my instagram scrolling usually ends on her posts.

Zarita Zevallos
@infi_nerdy_

I can’t believe I only recently started following Zarita. Her portraits are so breathtaking and graphic. It’s… just so powerful. I am so excited to see more from her. And her captions are better than anything I could have ever written.

Amy Wolff: Photo Director, Hearst Enthusiast Group (Popular Mechanics, Bicycling and Runner’s World)

Christian San Jose
@_chrxx

Shameless plug for an event I produce (InspiredLive), but it’s there that I heard of Christian San Jose aka chrxx (s/o Michele Romero). He’s a photographer, filmmaker, artist, writer…aka a visual poet. I like his modern collage approach.

Viviane Sassen
@vivianesassenstudio

Dutch artist Viviane Sassen is a photographer whose work blends fashion and fine art in a graphic, abstract and colorful way. She is beyond my everyday visual scope but I’d love to work with her…I wonder how she’d shoot running or cycling.

John Kealey
@johnkealey

This account is full of beautiful surprises - the most recent series includes details of the National Ballet of Canada, scroll down a bit and you’ll see colorful graphic images from a tennis court. He makes unique images out of things we’ve seen a million times.

David Jaewon Oh | 오재원
@thisisdizzle

David is based in Seattle and very engaged in his community, which shows in his images. Whether it’s running, cycling or women combatants. He works really hard to tell the emotional story.

Casey Steffens
@caseysteffens

I don’t know anything about Casey, and I don’t know how I started following but there’s a mix of b&w, color, series, active sporty stuff and lovely portraits. The images have a nostalgic and classic feel. It’s nice.

Vincent Tullo
@vincenttullo

I recently worked with Vincent but was following for a long time before that happened. Soft color palettes, portraits with a variety of styles and composition shapes. He treats every subject like they’re special (and they are).

Letterform Archive
@letterformarchive

Based in San Francisco, this nonprofit center/library is a type lovers dream. There are over 50,000 type related items in their collection; which, they’ve just started to digitize and make available to members. In the meantime, their insta feed is a delight.

Braulio Amado
@braulioamado

I first noticed Braulio’s work in Bloomberg Businessweek and was blown away by how strangely weird and refreshing his illustrations and designs were. Then when I noticed his album cover designs for Roisin Murphy, I was sold!

Susumu Kamijo
@susumukamijo

I've been obsessed with poodles lately and have been trying to figure out how to incorporate them into my designs somehow. Then I came across Susumu's artwork through a photographer that I've worked with, and fell in love. Check it out to find the most stylish poodles on Instagram.

Inspofinds
@inspofinds

This is a great resource for all things print–posters, packaging, books, etc. The curation is delightful and always surprising.

Magoz
@magoz

I find Magoz’s illustrations so smart, and clean. I started paying attention to his work when the New York Public Library was producing books for Instagram Stories. Pure brilliance!
