Senior Visual Designer, Trusted Media Brands

About the Role:
Reporting into the Director/Audio & Visual Media, the Senior Visual Designer will lead a group of designers in the creation of still and motion graphics for our brand websites, social media channels and video products, with a goal of enhancing the visual aesthetic of each brands’ channels and deepening engagement with our audiences.

You’re an inspiring, versatile digital designer with a stunning portfolio of digital work and the ability to bring out the best in your team. You know how to translate a brand vision into compelling still and motion graphics to build audience and deepen engagement. You have hands-on experience maximizing creative tools, including Procreate and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects; you’ve worked with and/or are familiar with dynamic content platforms such as Ceros or Storied; and you’re always on the lookout for new tools to bring content to life across digital channels.

Job Requirements:
Your Day-to-Day:
Creating original digital designs, motion graphics, gifs, and info graphics for Taste of Home, Family Handyman, Reader’s Digest, The Healthy and Birds & Blooms.
Lead an in-house team of visual designers who produce digital visual assets.
Provide feedback on your team’s work while also creating your own assigned assets.
Collaborate across brand teams and prioritize work to meet various deadlines.
Partner with Brand team art directors and Product team UX designer to ensure each of our brand websites and social channels have a distinct look and feel.
You Have:
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar, specializing in assets for digital platforms.
4+ years’ experience creating motion graphics, strong typography and digital/print graphic design and have an online portfolio showcasing your work.
1+ years’ experience managing or mentoring junior graphic designers. Willing to provide constructive feedback.
Experience with content production tools such as Adobe After Effects, Animate, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, XD, Procreate, and Ceros and/or Storied; quick to learn new platforms.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with editorial and design team members to get the best overall creative results.
A network of freelancer graphic and motion-graphic designers to tap for overflow work.
Can work quickly and efficiently with an organized, thorough and deadline-oriented approach to working.
The ability to recognize when a design project or experience is ready to move forward.
Ease with working on multiple assignments at the same time.
Positive and open-minded, with a strong sense of integrity and fair mindedness.
