Job Description: Remote but within a commutable distance from New York City for occasional meetings.

Reporting directly to the firm’s co-founders, The Art Director work both independently and as part of a team in the creation of still and motion graphics for our client’s websites, events, social media channels, and video products, with a goal of enhancing the visual aesthetic of each brands’ channels and deepening engagement with our audiences. A strong foundation of typography and editorial skills for reports and marketing materials is essential.

You are an inspiring/inspired, versatile designer with a strong portfolio grounded in good typography and solid design fundamentals. You are also comfortable working digitally. You are a creative problem solver, both great on a team and self-motivated. Willing to roll up your sleeves and jump in, you are open to learning and pushing beyond your comfort zone. You are a great communicator and a solid writer, someone able to work with other designers, writers, printers, developers, videographers, illustrators, etc. You are equally capable of speaking to senior clients directly. You listen well and are open to the ideas of others while maintaining a voice and a clear point of view. You proof things well and are not prone to mistakes. You write terrific emails—warm, clear, succinct.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar.

  • 4+ years’ experience employment with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including AfterEffects and XD. Strong, advanced typography, layout and digital/print skills are essential.

  • Hands-on experience maximizing creative tools including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects. You have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and you’ve worked with and/or are familiar with dynamic content platforms such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD and CMS tools such as Squarespace, WordPress, SharePoint, and others. You’re great at research and quick to learn new platforms.

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with editorial and design team members to get the best overall creative results.

  • Can work quickly and efficiently with an organized, thorough, and deadline-oriented approach to working.

  • Ease with working on multiple assignments at the same time.

  • Positive and open-minded, with a strong sense of integrity and fair-mindedness.
