This position is located in our White Plains office and is a paid position.

Job Requirements: Reader’s Digest is looking for a graphic designer who is ready and eager for a hands-on full-time, 35 hours/week for 12 weeks (or more) apprenticeship in publishing. Working with the print team, this intern will assist the creative director, art director and production manager in a range of duties crucial to the publication of Reader’s Digest magazine and books. Responsibilities will include designing front and back of book departments, contributing art ideas for magazine articles, photo research, and various production duties such as setting up issues and maintaining the art wall. He or she will also support the editorial staff with administrative tasks related to the functioning of a fast-paced media company. There is also a chance to work on features and enhance your portfolio!

Requirements:

• Student position in magazine or newspaper publishing or previous internship at either a print or digital publication
• Coursework in graphic design, digital media, or ongoing work on a student publication (digital or print) or personal work
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
