Creative Director, Foundry 360 // Dotdash Meredith

Job Description:

Overview: Foundry 360 is looking for a seasoned creative director to oversee multi-media content creation for three efforts:

1) Major Bank Account

  • Lead creative teams across entire account: print, digital articles and infographics, video and podcasts

  • Collaborate with photo, edit, sales and account partners

  • Work within two creative paths: Solutions within the bank’s branding guidelines and formats, and more ambitious solutions that opens new possibilities in formats, extending the bank’s creative reach and business opportunities

  • Be able to present the work well and hold fruitful discussions with our client-partners

2) Large Health/Medical Account

  • Lead creative teams across entire account: print, digital articles, video & podcasts

  • Collaborate with photo, edit, sales and account partners

  • We’ve done cool AR work with this client, this role will push on other tech-forward ideas and pitches

3) Proactive Pitch Development

  • Work closely with VP Creative and sales team to generate new opportunities for Foundry 360 across all verticals

  • Identify trends, brand movements and other insights to spark new business efforts

This is a key role within our organization. This important role works closely with and reports to the VP Creative, Content & Strategy for Foundry 360.

Is This a WFH or In-Person Role?:
Both WFH and in-person. We are working in-person three days a week in our downtown FiDi location.

What We’re Looking For:

  • You naturally lead creative vision, direction, execution and production of creative work across all platforms and channels—video, print, digital (often mobile-first) and social

  • You have a strong record of successful creative team management—a people person who can inspire and bring the best from a range of people on teams

  • You have strong partnering and collaboration skills: internally, with Creative, Sales, Edit, Photo and Management teams, and externally on new biz pitches and client-facing moments

  • You have a deep history of creative excellence—exceptional design, typographic and creative skills

  • You also have an editorial brain: exceptional ideation capacity in creative and editorial directions

  • You are entrepreneurial in nature and know that landing new biz makes the larger business stronger and give more creative potential to the art teams

  • Simply put, you are fiscally responsible and budget conscious

  • And of course, you are very organized and a strong advocate for proper scheduling and efficient work streams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years in a creative leadership role (meaning ‘Number 1’ position) at a magazine or content-focused agency

  • Highly collaborative, strong leadership skills, strong experience in print, web & motion, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
