Art Director, Pop-Up Magazine Productions

Job Description: We’re looking for an art director to join our award-winning art department. The selected candidate will help design, edit, art direct, commission, and brand our acclaimed live-events series, Pop-Up Magazine, as well as special projects and collaborations with brand partners. The art director will report directly to the Creative Director.

Job Requirements: The ideal candidates view themselves as problem solvers. They need context to be effective with their solutions. To them design is more than pretty pictures or graphic trends — clarity, purpose, and meaning are important. They understand who the audience is and what is appropriate. They take feedback as a process and a means to build something even better. There is purpose in every design decision. They have a strong foundation of design principles and possess sophisticated typographic sensibilities. Beauty is never the goal but is always part of the solution.

If you like to challenge the expected, appreciate the beauty of design that’s invisible, have an eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment, possess a point of view, and respect other points of view, we want to talk to you.

Applicants should have 3-5 years of editorial and/or brand experience with a passion for the creative potential of live, digital, and print mediums.

Salary will depend on experience.
